From Our Barn to Yours: Introducing DuckeryOS

A little over a year ago, we built a piece of software just for us — a way to track every duck, every egg, every dollar, and every certification our farm needed to keep straight. We called it the Flock Ledger, and it quietly became the backbone of how we run The Dank Duckery.

Today, we're opening it up. Say hello to DuckeryOS: farm management software built by farmers, for farmers.

Why we built it

If you raise poultry — for eggs, for breeding stock, for conservation, or just because you fell down the same heritage-breed rabbit hole we did — you already know the problem. Spreadsheets multiply. Paper records get feed dust on them. Tax season becomes an archaeology project. We built DuckeryOS to fix that for ourselves first, which means every feature in it exists because we actually needed it, not because it looked good on a features page.

What's inside

DuckeryOS carries over everything that's been running our own operation day to day: individual flock profiles with lineage tracking, egg production logs, health records, breeding pairs and clutch tracking, feed purchasing, a full general ledger with depreciation, NPIP certification tracking with printable exports, a customer and order CRM, a visitor/tour log with auto-filled liability waivers, and year-end reports built for real tax filing — not just pretty dashboards.

It's been built from the ground up, so whether you're running a two-duck backyard flock or a large-scale operation, your data stays yours and your setup stays yours.

Where things stand

We're in early access right now, onboarding a small number of farms directly so we can get this right before opening the doors wider. If that's you, reach out through the DuckeryOS site and we'll get you set up.

This is the same tool we trust to run our own flock. Now it can run yours too.
