A NEW HAMPSHIRE WATERFOWL FARM
We're a husband-and-wife operation raising a small, well-loved flock of heritage duck breeds. Good vibes, good eggs, and a name that makes our New Hampshire neighbors smile.
OUR STORY
The Dank Duckery started out as a half-serious conversation driving by Agway which then turned into a very serious venture!
Initially thinking we'd start with three ducks, one for each of us, quickly turned into twelve and finally settling in at 16 for our first season. We have seven breeds, five being heritage ( List here ), and after some research and education, we've become very serious about becoming a small heritage breed farm with egg production as our other plan.
We're a small operation that puts our heart and souls into the care, safety, and happiness of our flock. We spend our free time hanging out with them, feeding them treats, and watching them be the goofy ducks that they are. Neither of us ever thought we'd be so passionate about ducks, but here we are, and we are 110% invested.
Our next goals are to constantly improve their space and our affiliation with the FSA/USDA.
THE FLOCK LEDGER
Sixteen birds, seven breeds, zero dull moments. Here's who's currently waddling around the property. As ducks are added, this list will be updated.
Ledger last updated by hand — ask the farmers for the current headcount.
HOW WE FARM
We raise our flock with room to roam, clean water, and daily hands-on care. We're currently working toward USDA and Farm Service Agency (FSA) registration to formalize what we're already doing.
Our flock has run of the yard and multiple pools to swim in. We have a large run protected by an electric fence to keep the predators at bay, along with a super secure coop to keep everyone safe at night.
We free feed, which means they have access to food, supplements, and water whenever they need it. The coop and run get a full clean and fresh hay every third day. We even put in coop refreshers infused with calming scents to help our flock feel at home.
We are officially an LLC and are working toward our FSA and USDA affiliations. Our goal is to be a heritage breed/egg production farm. We currently have 5 heritage breeds.
